Cultural Extraordinaire:

Dr. Valsiner is a social and developmental scientist who is one of the core members of the Socio-Evolutionary-Cultural Psychology Graduate Program (SEC) within the psychology department at Clark University. He takes special interest in the cultural organization of mental and affective processes in human development across the whole life span. Another domain of his research involves psychology’s history as a resource o ideas for contemporary advancement of the discipline and in theoretical models of how human beings are carriers of culture. He is the editor of Culture & Psychology (SAGE) and Integrative Psychological & Behavioral Science (SPRINGER). Jaan Valsiner is a traveler of the world, constantly found in various countries. If he is not found outside the country, he can be found in the kitchen of the Psychology Department of Clark University, making his (in)famous cup of colombian coffee for Kitchen Seminar members!
